Indigenous Perspectives Closing Celebration

Indigenous Perspectives Closing Celebration

The Library presents an “Indigenous Perspectives” exhibition closing celebration featuring performances and displays from tribal representatives. A drumming circle, dancing and demonstrations of traditional crafts will celebrate Virginia's 11 federally and state-recognized tribes. Stop by the Hungry Hungry Arrow food truck for Indigenous menu items featuring homemade fry bread. No registration required. Limited free parking is available underneath the Library at 800 East Broad Street.

Contact education@lva.virginia.gov or 804.692.3500 for more information.

The exhibition, which runs through Aug. 17, 2024, in our Exhibition Gallery & Lobby, explores the voices and experiences of Virginia’s tribal communities. View excerpts from video interviews, archival records, and objects contributed by the tribes that reflect their traditions and culture. Learn more online here.
